Meanwhile, the Lotto NRFL Men's Premier League award for July went to Onehunga Sports' Prince Quansah after he was picked out as his side's best performer in matches against grand final hosts Melville United and Bay Olympic.
New Zealand U-17 Women's goalkeeper in 2008, Victoria Esson took out the Lotto NRFL Women's Premier League award for July with her showing against Claudelands Rovers in a 3-1 loss helping her pick up the honour.
From the technical area, Mangere United's Mohammed Imran claimed the coach of the month award for helping steer his side to an unbeaten record in July with three wins and a draw as part of their (still active) 12-match unbeaten streak dating back to mid June.
The referee of the month award went to Mirko Benischke, who made his Premier League debut in July after only being in the country a few months since arriving from Germany.
All of the award winners receive a $50 voucher to spend at Lotto's Outlet stores while both Quansah and Mathews have booked spots on the Kia Motors Lotto NRFL AllStars squad who will be in action later this year.
