Coach Educator Development Pathway

The New Zealand Football Coach Educator Development programme aims to provide a progression in courses that reflects the Coach Development Structure and provides suitable entry points for coaches wanting to join the coach educator's development pathway.

Prospective coach educators have the flexibility to identify opportunities that suit their own experiences and circumstances and coaches can enter the scheme and specialise in either or all off the Junior, Youth and Senior development areas.

Level 1 Junior Coach Educator Certificate
Cost: $75

The Level 1 Junior Coach Educator Certificate is the first step on the coach educator pathway (further levels will be available at a later date).

The Level 1 Junior Coach Educator Certificate qualification involves; theory workshops, self-development tasks and formal assessment of practise in a practical setting. It can be divided into four main areas:

- Understanding/meeting the needs of adult learners through developing learner-centred leadership styles and facilitator strategies (theory workshop - four hours)

- Understanding the Level 1 Junior Football Coaching Award content, structure and course delivery mechanisms (theory/practical workshop - six hours)

- Developing a personal action plan of practical experience 'self-development' tasks building up to the formal assessment (on the job learning - ongoing)

- Formal Coach Educator Assessment completed by candidates and assessed by Regional Coach Development Co-ordinator
