Women’s football in New Zealand is on the rise with continued growth year on year. The Football Ferns are ranked inside the top 20 international teams and our grassroots game is developing just as rapidly.
To build on that growth we need to develop the depth in the women’s game by increasing the opportunities for young girls to play football.
Our approach focuses on reducing the barriers to involvement by offering girls-only junior football and an opportunity during the summer months to attract new girls to the game.
The tailor-made pathway aims to provide a high-quality experience which meets the needs of female players. The goal is to increase participation and provide environments which allow each player the chance to reach her true potential.
